Photo Gallery RB is a fast, modern photo and video gallery for WordPress: drag-and-drop upload, bulk editing, five layouts, 25 hover effects, a lightbox with slideshow and sharing, and social feeds. PRO adds photo selling and client proofing. This guide gets you to your first gallery in a minute.
1. Installation
- Go to your WordPress admin dashboard
- Open Plugins → Add New
- Search for Photo Gallery RB
- Click Install Now → Activate
Requirements: WordPress 6.2 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. The plugin adds the Photo Gallery menu to the admin.
To unlock PRO, install the Photo Gallery RB — Key plugin you get after the purchase and activate it next to Photo Gallery RB. The Sell and Proofing tabs of the editor and the PRO feeds unlock at once.
2. Your first gallery
- Open Photo Gallery → Add Gallery
- Type a title, e.g. Wedding in Kraków
- Drop photos from your computer onto the editor, or click Media Library to pick images you already have
- Drag the thumbnails into the order you want
- Pick a Layout and a Hover effect on the right — the preview shows the real gallery at once
- Click Save
The Embed panel now shows the gallery’s shortcode, e.g. [photo_gallery_rb id="12"]. Paste it into any post or page, or add the Photo Gallery RB block in the block editor. See Publishing a gallery.
3. The Photo Gallery menu
- All Galleries — your galleries with a preview, the number of items and the shortcode.
- Add Gallery — the gallery editor.
- Tags — the image tags that filter buttons are made from.
- Connections — API keys of the social feeds.
- Proofing (PRO) — the selections your clients sent.
- Orders (PRO) — the orders of the built-in checkout.
- Shop & Payments (PRO) — currency, Stripe and PayPal keys, download links.
4. The gallery editor
On the left are the gallery’s images; on the right, its settings in tabs:
- Layout — the layout, columns, spacing, order, filters and pagination
- Style — the hover effect, captions, colours and fonts
- Lightbox — what happens on click and what the lightbox shows
- Sell (PRO) — prices and checkout
- Proofing (PRO) — client access and selections
- Protect — copy protection and watermarks with our free plugins
Above the settings the preview switches between desktop, tablet and phone widths.
5. Coming from version 1
Version 2 is a new gallery, but nothing of version 1 is lost: the Photo Gallery RB widget keeps its images and columns and now shows them with the new layouts and lightbox. In the widget’s settings you can also pick one of your new galleries instead.
