Duplicate Post RB

Duplicate Post RB duplicates posts, pages and custom post types in WordPress with full control over what gets copied — and an Assistant that adapts every copy. This guide gets you from installation to your first adapted copy in a few minutes.

1. Installation

  1. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Open Plugins → Add New
  3. Search for Duplicate Post RB
  4. Click Install Now → Activate

The plugin works at once with its default settings. Its screen is RB Plugins → Duplicate Post.

2. Your first copy

  1. Open Posts → All Posts or Pages → All Pages
  2. Hover a post and click Copy
  3. In the dialog choose how many copies and which profile, and click Copy now

The copy is created as a draft. Copy is also in the admin bar, the block and classic editor, and the Bulk actions menu for many posts at once.

By default a copy takes the title, content, featured image, template, format, author, password and tags of the original.

3. Profiles: decide what a copy contains

The screen has three views: Copy profiles, Settings and Cleanup. In Copy profiles a profile decides:

  • which elements are copied — title, content, images, terms, custom fields, comments…
  • how copies are named — prefix and suffix with [Counter], [CurrentDate], [CurrentTime]
  • what happens after copying — stay, open the copy, or ask
  • its own button and template source
  • what its Assistant does with every copy

Keep the Default profile for everyday copies and add profiles for special jobs. Click Save profile after changes.

4. The Assistant: copies that are ready to use

Open a profile’s Assistant tab and pick what the copies are for — e.g. A landing page for another city. When you copy, the dialog asks “New city?”, and the copy has the new city in its title, text and excerpt. Try it on a post shows the result before you copy. Read more

5. Work on live pages and keep the site clean

  • Rewrite & Republish — edit a draft of a published post and publish it into the original, same address and comments.
  • Cleanup — find duplicate posts and remove them, with redirects to the post that stays.
