RB Links Redirection

RB Links Redirection sends old and broken addresses of your WordPress site to the right page: redirects with simple rules or regular expressions, a 404 log with one-click fixes, and automatic redirects when a post’s address changes. This guide gets you to your first redirect in a minute.

1. Installation

  1. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Open Plugins → Add New
  3. Search for RB Links Redirection
  4. Click Install Now → Activate

The plugin works at once: the 404 log and automatic redirects are on by default. Its screen is RB Plugins → Redirection.

2. Your first redirect

  1. Open RB Plugins → Redirection
  2. Click + Add redirect
  3. Source address — the old address, e.g. /old-pricing
  4. Target — the new address, e.g. /pricing, or find a post or page by its title
  5. Click Save redirect

Visitors of /old-pricing now land on the new page with a 301, and search engines move its ranking there. Type the old address in Test an address to check.

3. Three views

  • Redirects — all redirects: add, edit, enable or disable, delete, search, import and export, test an address.
  • 404 log — the addresses visitors asked for that do not exist, ready to be fixed.
  • Settings — automatic redirects, the query string, hit counting, the 404 log and what every other 404 does.
